So just popped the 1080ti into my machine and the noise it creates is abosultely horrendous when playing a game. It stops the second I exit a game. I've check the fans and nothing is blocking them, they spin up faster as more heat is produced but the noise remains. It seems to change frequencies with what's on the display.

What am I doing wrong?

Roll up a paper tube to isolate the location of the sound. Could be either the card or the PSU.

This is why PCs belong under the desk. :)
The case looks like an aluminium one, so I would assume lacks any sound dampening features.

It's a SilverStone FT02 - "Foam padded interior for advanced noise absorption" but I can hear this very clearly. The machine is on the desk just for testing and while I sort out cabling. The office is a dump right now. Using the paper tube technique it sounds like its coming from the PSU. I guess I'll be ordering a new PSU tomorrow. :S
