Hi all,
looking for help as I am stuck.
Got this new monitor from OCUK and its brilliant thus far however I have come to a bit of a halting issue:
I can change all resolutions and refresh rates just fine within windows display settings and adapter settings, as well as NVidia control panel as i am an owner of a GTX 1080 due to the ongoing GPU purge ;P
Issue is as follows:
Current settings in areas which i deemed responsible for this:
Set in Windows Display Settings to 2560 x 1080
Nvdiai Control panel
Native 3440 x 1440
Current: 2560 x 1080 144 hz
Adapter settings for 34WQC which is on my GTX 1080
is set to 144 HZ
now that all works fine as long as it is set to scale on the display, if not- with these settings it will return to native 3440 x 1440 60 hz native on desktop.
Setting to scale on display adjust to the corresponding settings.
now lets say i launch a game with Full screen
it will re adjust to native settings 3440 x 1440 hz howver it will run up to 100 hz
i saw some people make this comment on previous threads.....
now lets say switch to either type of windowed or borderless
that restores the res and refresh rate to what is set within control panel and windows settings
also there are some game which fully stretch and some dont good example would be pubg or even gta v some menus appear as a 27'' rather than the full stretch to 34 inch 21:9 aspect
not sure what else i can do asides from returning this thing and get someone thing else which runs normally without the extra fiddle just to make it all work..... i am sure i am being dumb and missing something really obvious here or not.....
so to speak res and refresh rates will change depending on if you are on full screen or in borderless.
the only way to sort of over come this is to just run the given auto settings with the re adjustment of refresh rate and res in the panels from the 2560 x 1080 144hz default which i set to the standard 3440x1440 144hz and then launching the game appears to run it fine with these settings as normal and the only thing to mess there after with is the game settings to alter the heaviness of aliasing etc that annoys me as well as the annoying black borders i get in game that of course changes but still annoying might as well just get a much better quality 27'' rather than battle a war with this.
i am happy to develop pictures for this matter of my exact issue at hand if someone would like for further proofing of what i am trying to get across here- as i am satisfied with the purchase just not the hustle lol
