Gigabyte 5070ti won't display signal

I have already messaged overclockers directly, but I just wanted to make sure I haven't missed anything obvious.

Got a Gigabyte 5070 ti today which I set up when I got home from work. When I power on the PC though, I can't get a display to the monitor. The GPU itself runs, with the fans operating and the LED on it glowing. I've tried both HDMI and DP, but can't get a signal. However, I did notice that when I unplugged and re-plugged the cable back in, the monitor would update with "searching" before it says no signal, so clearly the GPU is being detected when I plug something in before failing to find a signal. I then put my old 3070 back in to make sure I hadn't unplugged something when switching GPUs over but it worked as normal.

Is there something obvious I'm missing here?

I would be looking at power issues if it doesnt seem like it is even reaching Windows.

Yeah, I've tried both HDMI and Display Port. As mentioned, I put my 3070 back in and it worked as normal. I've got a 750w PSU. I'm using the 16 pin adapter with 2 x 6+2 cables going into the adapter. Both 6+2 cables are separately powered and not daisy chained.

Just went and updated mobo and gpu bios on the 3070. Put the 5070ti back in and still no display.

Ok, so I got it to boot twice. But then when I turned it off and back on again it wouldn't boot. Seems sometimes it'll run with the fans on when I turn it on and other times the fans won't turn on and I get no signal. However, aside from the 2 times it booted, even when the fans run the display won't get a signal. So confused right now.

Do you have a PCIE 5.0 motherboard?

If not, get into the bios and force the motherboard to run at pcie 4.0 rather than auto.

Some 50 series cards are not playing ball with older motherboards, but forcing pcie 4 via the bios apparently sorts it.

Thank you so much. I'm planning to upgrade the rest of my build next month. I'm currently on AM4 with a B550M PRO-VDH WIFI. I put the 3070 back in and went on the bios and changed PCI_E1 gen switch from "auto" to "gen 4" and now it boots every time.

Couple of questions. So when it was set to auto why was that a problem? The mobo is PCIE 3/4, so shouldn't it have booted on either?

Seeing as the 5800x doesn't have IGPU, if I didn't have the 3070 still, would I have been unable to even get to the bios to change this?

Have you set the PCIe version from 'auto' to 3 or 4?

Do you have another cable (DP or HDMI) that you could try?
