the mobo arrived with the computer and i noticed the heatsinks around the cpu are kinda close.
would the likes of a thermaltake 120 extreme/ultra still fit on do poeple know?
Is there enough room on a CM830?

and finally, suggestion for a fan to attach to it.

ga-965p-dq6 as for the rev not sure, cpu-z said it was 2, but i was told it was the rev1.
but i think it was mostly software changes.
it's all shiney brass- but doubt that changes anything.

Afaik the crazy cool bit is just a copper plate behind the cpu socket, problem is it needs to be removed to use bolt through heatsinks i.e not push pins like the stock cooler.

so the other cooling bits dont need to be replaced?
eg the south and north bridge and mosfet copper coolers (hope i got those names right) they dont come completely off, only to take the backing off from the cpu socket/cooler

Yep thats exactly my understanding. The "crazy cool" bit is just the big chunk of copper on the underside which can be easily removed leaving you with a cool paperweight. I'd ask someone who has or has had that board just to double check but I'm 99% sure thats the case. I don't think the DQ-6 has any problems taking any of the big modern tower heatsinks as there massive clearance around the cpu socket area.
