Gigabyte 965P-DS3....SATA Indentification

Hi all,
As above really. Which SATA connectors do I use on the MOBO. The purple or the yellow. Fresh install of windowsXP. Which is best, insatlling two hard drives at WINXP installation or one and add the second after I've loaded windows?

The orange ones are controlled by the Intel ICH8 controller. The purple ones are controlled by the JMicron controller that supports both Raid and AHCI and NCQ.

If you want to set up a RAID use the purple ones. Otherwise I'd use the orange ones.

Thanks Billy.....no RAID just lots of storage. I'll stick to yellow/orange

You're welcome. You might appreciate knowing that when I installed SP2 I didn't need any drivers for my 7200.10. It worked right off the bat.
