Hello all, I wondered how good this motherboard is for overclocking? I think it's the first revision, also I have a E6700 CPU, I wondered if these two are really compatible or? as I was thinking of getting a Q6600 and overclocking that instead or if you have any other Motherboard/CPU recommendations then I dont mind hearing them, Many Thanks for all the help

A P965 DS4 and an E6700 go together sweetly. The chip will run out of gas before the board does.

A Q6600 should also run sweetly in it, maybe getting to 3.4ghz if you're lucky.

I have had one of these boards over 500MHz FSB so with a multi of 10x (?) on that chip that would be 5GHz in an ideal world...BUT I think the chip will max out WAY before that :p

I used to have that board and even by todays standards its fantastic. With the right chip you'll do 500+ fsb easy.

I used to have a DS3P, same mobo but without the fancy cooling and that used to run my Q6600 at 3.2 (400 * 8) without so much as a sweat. I still have the mobo and it's running another Q6600 at 333 * 8 in my virtualisation PC.
