Gigabyte 980Ti IO Length?

If you look at the attached picture. I had to bend the top of the IO plate so that the card would fit into the PCI-E slot on the motherboard. I try to explain this with the image supplied.

I am using a Corsair 780T case and a Asus Z87-I Pro motherboard.

Why does this card not use standard Rear IO lengths? My MSI 970, 7970Ghz, Titan fit perfectly fine with the same case and motherboard.

My 980 TI G1 did not fit into case which had 980 Reference (not a short card), too long by maybe 5-7 mm. So now I am waiting for Skylake to be released next month.

IMHO those cards should have clear product warning for consumers to check first.
