Well, I've looked at the Akasa Mirage and Eclipse, and sorry, they're very good cases, but the looks aren't something I could live with, it may be shallow, but it's one thing I know I'd look up at every time and wish I'd bought something better looking. I really like the Lian-Li PC-A10b, but it's stupidly expensive (£160!), and I can't really justify spending that on a case, especially given its problems with large CPU heatsinks.

So I recently came across the Gigabyte Aurora 570, and it might be what I'm looking for. The looks may be a little...strong, but I quite like the design, and I think that in black, it'd be a nice case. The layout and cooling seems fairly decent, and I like the front USB ports.

Just want to check how the case is rated here, and if it has any issues I should know about.

Thanks for all replies.

I have the other version (Gigabyte Aurora 3D), the one you have posted about is basically the facelift version, i was considering getting that but i couldnt justify spending £40 extra on something which is basically the same and restricts airflow by the new front design.

Otherwise its a decent case.

The ecplise pictures really don't do it justice take a look at pink floyds eclipse pics in the eclipse owners thread
it's a stunning looking case especially with the maxi view window"which are cheap as chips" so modding isnt a problem.
and the cooling is second to none due to the width the layout and smart design.
Also top notch is the build quality, i think it's only rival in the £70-£150 bracket is the lian li pc 7 + i got mine a week ago after about a month of deliberation but so glad i did will last me 5 years.
And to me theGigabyte Aurora 570 is the uglier case out of the 3 you've mentioned. But then all that matters is if your happy with it.
This rig in old case with 2 front 80 mm 2500 rpm intake 2 rear 80 mm exhaust
2500 rpm barton 2800 xp @ stock 2.09ghz idle 49-51c load 61-64 c
In the eclipse with 2 akasa ambers 2800 @ 2.25 ghz idle 42c load 50-54 c never goes to 60.The mirage has a door!

I have the earlier model and it's not too bad. It's nothing to write home about though, looking back I should have bought an eclipse or lian-li.

Seen 'em, it's just...I suppose 'workmanlike' would be the word I'd use. I like the window, the rest of the case looks like a server, to be honest. It looks like it dates from 10 years ago. Cooling, though important, isn't a MASSIVE problem for me, I'm not going to be pushing my PC too hard overclock-wise, so I'm not looking for the coolest case ever. Each to his own on the looks, I'm a sucker for cases with doors, and the black Aurora looks pretty nice, IMO.
