Hi all. So I have a Gigabyte B85N Phoenix with the overclocking bios on it. I've tried to up the multi and the volts slightly but I can't even get 4ghz out of the CPU.

Has any one overclocked on this chipset? or this board? any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated. I will try and get some screenshots of the bios so that you can give me some pointers.

I overclocked my 4670k on the wifes Gigabyte B85M-D3H and it does exactly the same overclock as my Hero with the same settings. It's actually got a comprehensive set of options in the bios for overclocking and was extremely easy to do. Maybe they have gimped the bios on newer boards? You say a little extra voltage, how much exactly? From this thread over at AnandTech forums most need around 1.2v for 4.2Ghz, 1.25-1.3v or more for 4.5Ghz+.

Thanks for the reply. I tried 1.2v but couldn't even get 4ghz. It only has a 4 pin cpu power connector so maybe it just can't supply the voltage?

It's built now so I should be able to capture the bios settings.
