Looks like Gigabyte's answer to Intel's NUC is going to appear very soon, as they're now talking about specific models:

Choice of three models, i3-3227U, i5-3337U & i7-3537U, on the website and rumours of a Celeron version as well. There's no word on pricing yet, but presumably they'll try to undercut the corresponding NUCs.

Anyone tempted?

Looks good. USB 3.0, HDMI + DP AND Wired Ethernet make it better than the current flock of NUCs and with the Haswell refresh not really expected till Q4, if these are priced right, then I may get one of these instead of a NUC...Provided they don't overheat.

Yes, I hope that's not going to be a problem. I'm running an i5-2537U (Sandy Bridge, but 17W TDP) in my portable and, although it gets warm if I push it, it's not too bad.

Sounds as if Gigabyte is going for this form factor in a big way. At Computex they've announced upcoming models with Haswell processors (i7-4500U, i5-4200U, i3-4100u & i3-4010u) but also some AMD kabini based models as well (A4-5000, E2-3000, E1-25000 & E1-2100).

Also some prototypes with built in projector or with wireless charging...
