Hi

Does anyone know if the low end Brix model with the Celeron processor will run HD video.

I currently have a HTPC under the TV which is also my gaming PC but it's too big under the stand. Want to get something to attach via VESA on the back of the TV just to use for internet and move my HTPC back out to a spare room and use a monitor.

Which model are you looking at?
Most of the models with an Intel HD iGPU will run them just fine but if you wait for the Broadwell refresh, the next ones will support h.265 decoding, well not full, but better than using 100% CPU to do it :D

My mate was looking at these, look and sound pretty good. His issue was the price as he was looking at the 260 quid model. I will wait for a response to your query also, as it might be something to consider.

I used to use the older Intel Celeron NUC my media and this played 1080p MKV files fine.

I have Intel NUC DN2820FYKH and it plays 1080p no problem thanks to baytrail.

Been having problems with flash though, only works in Firefox and not in Chrome.

Saving up for a NAS now to serve the media.
