Can't believe I havn't seen this posted on here. Sorry if it has but I have searched.

Basically Gigabyte have release software that allows you to oc your pc using any device with an internet browser, ie smartphones, netbooks, etc you get the idea:

The benefits of Cloud OC

Overclock in real time on the fly : Cloud OC provides a full range of tweaking options that include CPU, Memory, VGA, and PCI-E frequencies and voltages.

Monitor your PC remotely : Cloud OC allows real time PC system status monitoring for values such as CPU temperature, cooling fan speeds, CPU VCore and system temperature.

Remote system control : Cloud OC allows you to control your PC remotely with restart, power off, suspend, and hibernate options.

User friendly and powerful UI : Cloud OC is not only easy to use, it is also extremely powerful if you consider the unprecedented access to system settings that it offers from any connected device anywhere on the planet!

Seems pretty interesting. This could also be a way of gigabyte gathering data on your overclocks for RMA purposes though.

I find the ability to monitor a more appealing idea. Given how much I hate easy tune, I would probaly hate this, but its still pretty cool tech

Yeah its Asus, you can do it via mobile phone on the Rampage and Crosshair, well supposedly, think you need somekind of bluetooth dongle but its not mentioned in the manual, but reviewers say its possible, maybe i've missed something. Its actually quite useful to be able to have a fiddle whilst the PC is doing other things saying that it could just be the novelty factor as only had my board a couple of days.
But id like to be able to do it on my phone, means I can run a stress test whilst Im in another room and can quickly check temps and things on my phone, so yeah it would have a use.

can understand the checking the temps bit but all the rest.... come one waste of time

Nah m8 on the Asus at least, Its got quite a lot of diagnostic gumf too, well it does when you hook up a laptop, not sure about the phone side, as not figured out how to get that going lol. The rest of its basically like AMD Overdrive or Asus Turbo V stuff, so yeah not a real advancement in things you can do, saying that if you push a little too far and the pc locks up you can fetch it back down slighty, and pray the thing gets going again, so maybe fine tuning of an overclock? Like I said maybe its the novelty factor for me but it does actually get used, ask me in a month and ill probably have no plans in hooking it up ever again lol.

Dave.
