Anyone experienced this problem or am I just having bad luck.

I've just installed a DQ6 with a C2D E6600 + 2Gb of Gelli ram.
(I konw that cpu is ok as I've taken it out of a working rig)

When I boot the machine the cpu fan tries to spin and just stops, all the case fans attached to the board run fine and the HDDs spin up, the machine then repeatedly tries to reboot but the same thing happens each time. I've swaped the cpu fan for another one just to check that but the same thing happens.

Have I got a duff board or has anyone any suggestions.

Thanks

The CPU fan stating and stopping is perfectly normal.

Do you have access to different memory to use so that you could enter the bios and adjust the default (1.8v) memory voltage?

Thanks markyp23, the square power connector is connected and the extra one by the ram for the video is also connected.

@ ns400r, thanks for the suggestion I'll pull a stick of ram out of my old machine tomorrow and see what happens, what should the memory voltage be for this board and the gelli ram?

thanks

Correct voltage for the memory should be 2.1v. Set the memory to +0.3v in the bios to achieve this.

Thanks ns400r, I'll have a look when I get home this evening, to be honest I don't hold out much hope as when the machine is booted you don't even hear the first beep, I'll keep hoping that you can prove me worng but I get this funny feeling that I'll have to RMA it.

thanks
