I was down at my m8's house and just installed Crysis for him, so we were about 20mins into the game when the PC BSOD's
It attempts a reboot but a Bios recovery screen comes up.

it says "recovering BIOS image in Hard Drive" then goes to restore bios found on hdd. The problem is it gets 3/4 of the way across the screen then the pc powers off then on again.
I've tried resetting cmos/ taking out the battery (with power cable removed)
unplugging all unnessesary drives etc, running just 1 ram module... About everything i can think of. It all ends up in the same result.
Is the bios corrupted and if so how do i restore it again?
I have a spare DS3 same revision sitting here but i'd rather not use it unless I have to as I planned to sell it.

Sounds like it might be er, broken. BIOS should not self-destruct without warning like that. Have you changed anything recently (inc. settings)?

No it's been running an E6400 @ 3Ghz for the past year. 4 sticks of 1gb geil modules, old 8800GTS 320 etc. First time it's had to run crysis mind you.
Whats the chances its just the bios that can't recover?
I was thinking if I put my working DS3 in and booted, and store a backup of it's bios on the hard drive, then stick this dodgy DS3 back in and hopefully it will be able to restore itself off the bios on the hard drive automatically.
I just can't understand why it's resetting itself once it gets so far along the restore progress.
