My GA 965P-DS3 chipset temperature is running at about 65c idle according to speedfan. This seems VERY high to me, my e6600 is running at 3.2 with 1.437v

I have one of these Zalman ZM-NB47J Northbridge Coolers lying around, if I fit it is this likely to improve temperatures by much?

Probably not. You'd be better trying to fit a small fan over the current heatsink.

Have you taken into consideration that the hot weather could be a factor...

I know the weather is not helping matters and I fitted and small fan which took the temps down slightly. I think the problem is my 9800 GX2 sits just below the chipset and the temps seem to mirror the GPU temperature which also runs very hot. My case has great air flow it just seems these things run very hot.

Do you think 65c is something i should be worrying about?

What does it hit during load?

IIRC the sensor isn't actually in the chip, it's on the motherboard and will just be reading the air temp around it.
