Hi guys, built a PC lastnight, Gigabyte DS3, Conroe 6600, Geil 2GB C4.

Its my first ever build which went very well suprisingly, might have a few issues though;

1) My 6600 is idling at about 49-50 degress, seems a little high? Is that normal? Case temps are 38 degrees. No lock ups on a few game tests though.

2) It wont go into standby mode, you can hear something shut down, possibly the gfx card, but the case leds and what sounds like the CPU fan still run. Any suggestions? Have I got a power header the wrong way around or something?

3) I cannot find where to set memory timings in the BIOS, been right through every option! Is there a "secret" menu somewhere??

Thanks a lot

Are the temps you are getting with the standard HSF and using Tat?
I've noticed with the 6600 they do run warmer than my 6300, at the moment I have the 6600 @ 3.4 on water cooling and Idle it's 44-48 and load 52-56.

For memory settings, whilst in the bios on the main screen, press ctrl and f1, and you will find them in the o/c section of the bios.

Yes its the standard retal heat sink, that sound fine then :)

Thanks for the BIOS tip, yu think it would state that somewhere in the BIOS!
