Gigabyte ds3p and sata hd

i got the gigabyte ds3p motherboard today with a single 400gb sata drive will i need to configure anything to make it run sata when i install windows for the first time, or will the board pick it up itself as sata.

Just make sure it's connected to one of the Intel ports rather than the Gigaraid/JMicron ones and it'll be fine.
