I'm thinking of the above board/ cooler combo. Can anyone tell me if its possible to mount the TT both ways?

Ideally I'd like the fan to be mounted so it blows towards the back of the case.

Cheers.

You can only mount the Tuniq Tower 120 in one direction on that Gigabyte board due to the capacitors around the CPU blocking the cooler in the other 3 positions.

I'm thinking about going for the DS3P now as there's more room.

I have a DS3 rev1.0 but hes now broken and need a new motherboard. The Tuniq Tower fit fine horizonatally but didnt fit vertically (the picutre above shown).

Does the DS3P fit the Tuniq Tower on the motherboard in all directions?

From my understanding it mostly to do with how you have your case cooling setup. Most people seem to like the fan to blow towards the rear case fan so the CPU heat gets kicked out the back of the case. Some others prefer it to go up into the PSU or fan on the top of the case.

Your Spot on.
If you have a case fan that sort of lines up with it when fan is blowing that way it acts like push pull.
I suppose your case fan should be able to remove more air than the fan in the Tuniq can push at it (in an ideal world)

But that orientation restricts air to the PSU....you can't win can you :(

The DS3P looks to be just as good if not better than the DS3R. OK its not got DDR3 support but is that really a problem?

Still looking around before I decide on my final spec though.
