hi
im planning to get the following

C2D e6300 OEM
GeIL 2GB PC6400 800MHz Ultra Low Latency

AND Gigabyte DS4 or DQ6

i going to overclock the cpu to at least 2.5 ish

the only problem i have is choosing the mobo, the most important thing is overclocking features, is there any difference for overclocking between DS4 and DQ6?

I already know DQ6 has the following advantages over DS4
1) has a 12 phase power design instead of 8(so?)
2) Everything is Quad (whats the point??? e.g quad bios, quad sataII,quad bla bla bla)
3) crazycool thingy (i use watercooling, so it needs to be taken off)
4) better onborad sound (i wont use it as i have audigy )

considering DQ6 is £24 more expensive which one should i get??

thanks

Welcome to the forums . :p

Get the DS4. Got mine running at 3.2Ghz stable for overclocking, but run it at 2.8Ghz permanantly no probs. In fact the DS3 would do the job Just as well.

Claimed !

You dont need to take off the SilentPipe heatsinks with watercooling. My DS4 is watercooled with a Swiftech Apogee and I have a low speed 90mm fan blowing over the SilentPipe heatsinks and it works very well. It is running at 3.4Ghz 24/7. My system temps never go above 43 degrees.

not gonna take off the silent pipe. with crazycool i meant the HS/or heat spreader behind the mobo under the cpu. only DQ6 has this not the DS4 (i think  )and according to reviews, if you wanna use watercooling you need to remove this otherwise the cpu block wouldnt fit. :p
