So having just finished building my first rig (yay! ;D), I noticed that when doing the mobo drivers it installed something called Easytune, which by the looks of it is some program to let you OC without having to go into the BIOS.

It seems really easy, you literally just click 1, 2, or 3 (in order of intensity of Overclocking.)

Is this something I should use? Do I still need to go into the BIOS to make some changes, etc.

You can use it, the first two speeds were perfectly fine when I tried it,, the third wasnt stable.

To test for stability you can download Prime95 and run for say 8 hrs and see if any workers stop.

Or use intel burntest and run this say 20+ runs.

If you also run CPU-Z at the same time you can see the CPU frequency.

But at the end of the day I did it by hand in the BIOS and also saved a few different user profiles in the BIOS with various speeds ready and waiting.

Personally i would use the BIOS it's such a simple process to clock a sandbridge setup.

Easytune will more than likely push too many volts through the CPU for whatever clock you decide on - far better that you get to understand your BIOS and fine tune your voltages manually.

What clock were you after?
