Hi guys! Quick question, before I go making a potentially expensive mistake! ;)

Is it possible with the EX58 boards to have the PC power up automatically when mains power is switched on? i.e., without having to press the power button on the PC?

The reason I ask is that I'm thinking about getting the Antec P183 for my new build. The power switch is behind the front door, so I'd rather have the PC power up without need of pressing that (which is how I have my current PC configured, anyway).

Thanks! :)

Not in any straightforward way, no.

What you could do is put the PC into sleep mode and awaken it from the keyboard, but you couldn't turn the mains off.

Actually - that's not right!

Most systems can be started from a USB device so you would need a USB keyboard with a hotkey combination that would turn the system on.

Thanks for the info! Not exactly what I meant, though. I dug out the settings I use on my current PC to get the desired behaviour. (This is an Award BIOS, which I believe is what Gigabyte use, too.)

Enter BIOS
Under 'Power Management Setup'
'Restore On AC Powerloss' [ON]

Other settings are:-
'Power Button Function' [Power Off]
'Instant On' [Enabled]

That's what mine does. If it's on an Asus board I would hazard a prediction it will be on a Gigabyte one also.
