I recently installed Windows 7 and now I have a problem with my RAM. CPU-Z shows all sticks installed (6 GB) but in system it just shows 6 GB (2GB usable). I've tested the sticks with memtest and no problems there. Anyone else using this board come across this problem? I'm using the F7 BIOS and some Corsair XMS 1600 Mhz RAM.

Have you got a Memory Gap Feature in your bios?

Don't think so but will have a look. Been reading other posts elsewhere about this problem and they mention memory remapping but can't find anything in the BIOS like that. It's probably named something else!

I had a similar problem with my UD5 only detecting 4GB out of 6GB.

Main things you could try:

1) Remove all RAM except for one stick in DIMM1_1 and see if it boots. If it does, add a stick at a time making sure to reinsert the RAM firmly, rebooting each time you add a stick. This worked for me.

2) Check your CPU socket for bent pins. This seems to be the cause for a lot of people. Bend them carefully back into place and re-seat the CPU, see if that fixes it. There's loads of threads on the internet talking about this particular problem in more detail.

Can I ask what version of Winows 7 have you installed? If its not 64 bit it wont use all the RAM anyway and that may be a problem? Also where have you lost this ram in Windows or is not showing on the POST screen?

Win7 x64 and it showed up in POST and in system it just said 6 GB (2GB usable). CPU-Z also showed I had 6 GB installed. I've RMA'd the board now so just wait for them to test it and get back to me.
