hi,

i built my new rig today and i was playing some music through the on board sound card on my motherboard and then the next song i tried the sound all come out of the right channel, on the volume control i have the balance in the middle and on my amp as well, i dont know how this happened and i still cant seem to get it back

any thoughts?

Cross-posting is a sackable offence. Shame on you.

Considering that the first song played correctly I would suggest that it is not a problem with the mobo (although I wouldn't rule it out completely). Maybe the file/CD you were playing is corrupt. Perhaps the speakers or amp are at fault/have a dodgy connection?

Right-click the speaker icon on the task bar, right-click Playback Devices and select Test.

Report back with your findings (assuming you don't get hit by the ban-hammer for cross-posting).

the only reason i posted in the motherboard section and the sound section is so i can get some answers, im not going to get any answers at all otherwise.
