Hello everyone,

Currently i have a rocket pro Cpu cooler. I was thinking about an upgrade and getting a G power pro. My temps are around (34 idle) (42-44 Load), thats with the fan on FULL (and its pretty noisy) I cant throttle it down as i lost the controller for it. Does anyone have any Exp with this CPU heatsink ?

If so any pointers would be great !

Thanks for any help...

I've got a g-power pro cooling my xp3200 and it is great. Idles at 32'c and hit 40 max under load and thats with it turned all the way down @ 1700rpm. Will be using it to cool my 3700sd when i get it next week so hopefully will cool that just aswell.
Note when its turned up full, 3300rpm, this thing is LOUD, but I've never had to run it at that speed as 1700 is fine as it dropped the temp 6-7'c over the stock cooler that I had on.

I too have this cooler.
A64 3200 Venice - 32 idle, 39 load at the lowest fan speed (inaudible).
Well, these are the temps I get now it's in a properly vented case.

Thanks for all the comments posted here.

Seems as if it is a good cpu cooler so farr. However, the above comment has thrown me. Yes i have heard good reviews about some of the above. But, What kinda temps can i expect from the above coolers ?

Also, most of the above coolers are HUGE...I need something fairly compact, that performs well...

Thanks again, Vinny.

I'd listen to people who actually have the cooler rather than fanboys of other stuff.

Custom PC had a review on coolers a month or so back and the Gigabyte kept the CPU the coolest of all the coolers tested at minimum and full speed. Saying that, there wasn't much difference between that and the Freezer64, which is slighlty cheaper - but hey, you don't get the nice blue lights with the F64!

dont waste ure time get the thermaltake big typhoon or artic cooler 64 pro or scythe ninja or Si 120 all better coolers.

Take it you've had all these coolers and tried them against each other to say its a waste of money???

Note that the G-power Pro isn't small! Havn't got exact size but it is on the big side.

Sure, i guessed it wasnt 'tiny'. However, it only has a 92mm fan, which is a little smaller than a 120mm used by some of the other coolers...

I guess its no bigger than my 3d rocket, in terms of size...

Im am restricted to size to some effect.

The Heatsinkfan i currently have is, around the same size as the g power, i have come to this conclusion by measuring up a 92mm fan over the top of the current heatsinkfan.

Im pretty certain it will fit, i know the most of the others that house a 120mm fan will not. The DIMM sockets will be too close to the heatsinkfan.

found sizes of both

G-power pro : 110x110x109
Rocket: 105x105x119

Will give you an idea on size, the way the G-power is designed will allow loads of room over your Dimm sockets.

I have that fan, it is very big and keeps the cpu very cool BUT now i have bypassed the speed control and have the fan directly to the motherboard, the mobo seems to like to run the fan always on full around 3400rpm so it is quite noisy :S
I might put the speed control back in and monitor my temps.

this kind:)

scythe ninja, 1200rpm 120mm fan. it is a big heatsink, but i have no problems using a normal sized case and you shouldnt either. it does cover the first two ram slots, but its only the fan that covers them and you can still put ram in there buy simply taking the fan off:)

you can see by the fan wire that's under the fan and sitting on the ram there there is clearance there:)
