Hello,
I have just installed my new 970 as above and I cannot figure this problem out. I uninstalled the AMD drivers and software of my previous card (7950) and shut Windows down. Installed the new card. When booting now, the PC is hanging at the splash scren of the BIOS, unfortunately I don't the old legacy BIOS screen enabled ~ but it's hanging at this screen for around 3-4 minutes and then eventually boots fine.

Any ideas what could be causing it to hang so dramatically? I can't get into the BIOS or use any of the hotkeys and if I do try when it eventually gets to the point where it would boot it just hangs at a black screen and doesn't budge.

I really hope it's not a fault with card but I appreciate any suggestions.
I've also just installed a Corsair CX 750 v2, but I tested that with my old card yesterday for a good few hours.

Well with it hanging at that stage of the game there isn't too much you can change. I'd consider doing a bios update on the motherboard, good chance that will fix things for you if its a recently updated one!

I thought as much. I'll give that a try now, guessing I'll have to swap back to the old card as I can't get into the BIOS with this one :( report back later!

Cheers all

Update

I can now boot past the BIOS screen with the new BIOS (updated using @BIOS from within Windows on my Gigabyte Z77-D3H board) and I now get a blue screen booting Windows 7.

:( It shouldn't be this unstable, ironically using 2 Gigabyte products.
