Was thinking of it for my HTPC, with a E2180, but i've read its not a good clocker because you cannot alter the ram timings or voltage.
I've also read that to get full 1080p HD processing from it, you need a powerful cpu. Seeing as my E2180 may NOT be overclockable, do you think it could handle blueray disk without stutter?

Thanks for any replies. :)

*puts up hand* you could give the 780g amd chipset a go for a good htpc (i know the boards are quite expensive but the chipset its self is supposed to be really good for HD playback with almost any processor...)

You will not get 1080P from any Intel HDMI solution, the best you can hope for is 720P or 1080I.

If you were interested in 1080P then AMD and the Abit A-N78HD will give you it but as MATX, the overclocking features would be minimal.

For Intel the Abit AN73HD will give you 720P and some overclocking features for ddr voltage, cpu core voltage.

However for better OC features you need to look at ATX and then you would need to purchase a seperate graphics card with HDMI.

Or you could wait for the Abit AN78GS (Intel) which is MCP78 (Geforce 8200) in ATX form factor. We will be testing it soon locally for overclocking features.

hope this helps

regards

Nathan
