Hi all
First post - be gentle... please!!
I have got a Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 with Intel Core Duo 2 6600, Corsair RAm etc.
I have been messing with the SATA configuration as I have been having loads of problems with VISTA RTM and Hybrid Sleep. I think that might be sorted by going back to F5 bios.
Anyways, what I would like to know is, what is the best config for the SATA ports? I have 3 drives and do not use RAID. Do I enable AHCI and all the other stuff?
Also, I have noticed at POST that when these are disabled, the drives are shown as
port0 master
port0 slave
port2 master
... but the thing is, I have them both in separate connectors on the board, ie SATA 0, SATA 3 and SATA 5, so shouldnt they show up as port 0 master and port 1 master and port 2 master?
I only noticed this yesterday when I disabled AHCI, so the drives now appear in the first part of POST rather than the SATA config part.
Any help/advice appreciated.
Cheers, Rich
