Does the above board support a 7900GX2/7950GX2?

Hi, theoretically, any motherboard with a 16x PCi-Express slot will support the cards you refer to.

Maybe I should have been more specific, lol - yes it will, I've very recently built a PC with a Gigabyte DS3, E6600, Physx card and 7950GX2 - worked very nicely indeed.

yip same chip and ram on a difference pcb (longer) but is essentially the same thanks for your help
