Gigabyte GA 965P-DS4

Can't seem to find any reviews on the GA 965P-DS4 by Gigabyte. Just about to place my order and the 1st choice Abit motherboard isn't available so I need an alternative...

What are your thoughts on this board? or an alternative I can choose.

Both the DS3 and DS4 are fantastic boards. If I remember correctly, the only difference is Firewire support on the DS4, so if you specifically need it, opt for the DS4.

Otherwise, the DS3 will do the same job, both in terms of overclocking and performance. Awesome little board the DS3.

Thanks for that, I'll get that then! I had a gigbyte board for my athlon 800 some years ago and it was very reliable. I'll go ahead and order!

ICH8 Vs ICH8R
So the DS4 has the Intel RAID SATA controller where as the DS3 doesn't (RAID is supplied via the Gigabyte controller).
You've also got a second PCI-e slot on the DS4 - this board supports X-Fire (But not SLI).

Great board...and can run SLI but with hacked drivers only.

Yes...but you don't get the full SLI performance.

None at all, the memory problems were fixed in a later BIOS, and the boards are shipping with a later one now, mine came with the F3 BIOS, had it about a month odd now, so your's may be even later.

Np, if your not going to be using the stock cooler then remember to set the fan speed to PWM in the BIOS.

ugh! just spent a long time removing all my old stuff and installing the new stuff into my case and it won't even POST, the fans spin but i get nothing onscreen no beeps or anything! what can i do?!

Did you test it outside the case?
