Gigabyte GA-EP45-EXTREME

WJA96 Do we think they're worried about chipset cooling then?
If they were , they sorted it , haven't seen mobo temps above 45C. It feels cooler than the X48T. Whether the 45nm chipset runs cooler don't knowe.

It's probably worth £250 in scrap metal value alone!
Yep :) a guy over the way said similar :-

Seriously How big is that cooler. best not let the local ****** know they will have that for scrap value oif the copper alone
The bare board with the Hybrid Cooler fitted, as in Pic above, weigh in at 1.52Kg

I know from the X38 & X48t that gigabyte don't mess about with alloys, but this is serious  Think if you do get one & sellit on you may need to study the copper market as well

Have just about reached limits on air , will be putting it in my case & on water today or tomorrow I think.

No sorry no quad tests yet being using E8500. Can run 585x 7.5 easily but memory is the limiting factor , struggling to get it stable above 1150. In 585 can browse etc., without issue but superpi 32m fails at around 5th iteration.
