I have the above motherboard which I am using for a new build with the below parts:-
Gigabyte EP45 UD3P mobo (rev 1.0)
Q9650 (extreme edition)
8GB Corsair ram (PC6400)
EVGA 9800 GTX+ card
1TB F3 HDD
Sony DVD RW
Antec 650 Sig PSU
NZXT case
Every time I power it on, the computer screen comes on (POST) but the computer switches itself off after about 10-20 seconds with the CPU fan kicking in midway.
The post screen shows CPU, memory and then does not get any further. I have not had the chance to go into BIOS yet. I can hear the HDD and the DVD drive spin up.
One thing I have noticed is that all 6 of the CPU phased leds are on (which according to the manual means that the CPU is overloaded) but how can that be possible? I have attached the relevant pic.
I have done the following to address the problem (but nothing has worked):-
Double checked the connection to the motherboard
Tried different coolers on the CPU (Titan Fenrir and Intel stock)
Moved the Ram (adding/removing and changing slots)
Disconnected the graphics card
Disconnected DVD and HDD
Reset CMOS
It leaves me to conclude that the problem lies with either the CPU or the motherboard itself, however before I order another motherboard (first) has anyone got any suggestion that i can try.
Any help appreciated.
