I have been trying to buy this motherboard to overclock my Q9550 Core 2 Quad Proccessor, as the board I currently have (Gigabyte GA-73PVM -S2) will not let me overclock the Q9550. I have heard that the GA-EP45-UD3P is a good board to overclock with. The problem is the nowhere in the UK seem to sell this board anymore. Does anyone know why and what is a good alternative.

What stepping/Revision is your Q9550?

Have a look @ the these boards:

Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3LR - very good clocking board

Asus P5Q Deluxe

Asus P5Q Pro Turbo - same as Deluxe, but fewer features...

All the above boards clock well, I had a Q9550 (C1) @ 4.0GHz on the Deluxe (presently have a Q9550 (E0) @ 4.0GHz on Gigabyte EP45 UD3P), so this board will certainly clock an E0 (Q9550) to 4.0GHz (with decent cooler)

Thanks for the feedback. My Q9550 is EO stepping/Revision which I have recently bought.
I am glad to see it works well with the GA-EP45-UD3P as I prefer Gigabyte boards to Asus. I have already been looking at the GA-EP45-UD3LR but would have preferred the GA-EP45-UD3P as it is supposed to be more stable.
