Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R - Question - Cob?? :)

It'll be the Preformance Enhance option or summit (options are standard, Turbo and Extreme).

Using F11 here - I read in earlier BIOSes the actual setting did nothing, tho was supposed to be active from F6 onwards...

My latency, read and write speeds as shown in everest are unchanged using the normal and extreme settings - not tried the middle setting.

Yeah it was activated during last summer.

Have you tested your memory bandwidth with it enabled and disabled? Both Memtest86+ and Everest show considerable gains for me with it on Extreme.

Tho it might be due to the strap I'm on? (8x400) as I backed the memory timings to 4-3-3-8 (from 4-4-4-12) and it showed absolutely no difference whereas on my other PC doing the same gives a 2000+MB/s increase in read bandwidth and 10+ns drop in latency.

ok thanks guys good to know its there :)

Also any ideas on the best BIOS to overclock with on this board?

Doesn't make much odds from my experience - I hit more than 500MHz FSB with F3 that the board came with and only edged up a couple more MHz or so since... just go for F11 if you have to update but theres not really much difference from F6 onwards.

kk thanks very much for the reply :) havent clocked with one of the P35 gigabytes yet.. but the P35 Asus boards are very much BIOS dependant :)

I'm using F7 BIOS on mine and managed to get 470MHz FSB before my RAM started playing up. Knocked it back down to 450MHz and it's rock solid. Can probably get higher if I used less sticks of RAM or slackened the timings, but happy with the current settings.
