hi there,

I have a gigabyte GA X38 DS5 mobo to which I have connected 1 x IDE hdd and 1 x IDE DVD RW

Initially both IDE drives were not detected in the BIOS so I removed the jumpers on both and now they are detected.

However now my keyboard is not being detected so I am unable to press any key to boot from DVD drove..they keyboard works in the first post screen so I can access the BIOS but on the second screen when I have to press a key the keyboard deactivates and doesnt work...

If I connect only a single IDE drive for example remove the HDD drive then the keyboard will remain active

I have never experienced this, whats this about?

Any ideas how I can fix it?

Thanks

ps/2 keyboard and usb mouse

funnily enough i removed the jumpers on both the HDD and DVD drives and it works..
