Ive just been watching a vid on the tube, a guy talking you thru the UD5
he gets to the cpu power socket and i see its 8pin, ive only ever had 4 pin on my P5Q pro, but the psu has 2 x 4pins, im assuming that this 2 x 4 will be the 8pin for the UD5 ?

sorry for stating the obvious ! :D just need to know

i am ;)
manged to get a good price for my setup, and a some rma replacemnt ocz ram, and other bits, only have to fork out £70 for i7 upgrade

got it all setup and installed, first class job! took my time and no issues
couple of questions tho.
overclocking done via the bios or with easy tune software ?
there was a guide to i7 overclocking on here last week, cant seem to find it, anyonw know were its gone ?
any help / info with getting this clocked a little would be very much appreciated.
just had a look in the bois, and its like nothing ive seen before ! wow lots and lots of setting, bit daunting

Well here's a few pic of my everyday running @3.9
Passes Intel burn and Pime for 12 hours(can't be arsed to run longer)

Very few adjustments, and depending on what mem you have maybe one less..

Now above 3.9 up to 4.4 (21 x 210) core has to go upto 1.35 and VTT 1.3 still keeping pretty much all else on auto.

4.4 will run multiple loops of Vantage, Intel burn but fails Prime after about 12 hours..
Could probably get it stable messing with all the voltages and stuff .. but happy at 3.9 as have not had a problem.

But my Ram dosen't like going above 1600

wow thanks for that twitch

you know when you reboot, how long does it take to get to the logo screen ? takes me about 30 secs, is this right ?

Hmm..

Will test it though I have a raid array so may be a bit longer..

Here goes..

I will post and do an instant restart then post again

what ive realised it when i reboot, instead of the monitor poweing back up it stays on standby, windows boots and i have to turn monitor off and back on again ? ?

When overclocking, it sometimes takes ages for mine to boot with new settings, but once the new settings have booted and are stable, it no longer has that problem.

just going through bios now
in advnced bois feature there is an option for INITIAL 1st DISPLAY this was set to pci, there is an option for pcie x16-1 and -2 also
an i right in changing this to the correct lane ie pcie x16-1?

ok this is gonna sound strange it my computer is ticking, and everytime i move the mouse there is a light hi pitched sound comming from what sounds like cpu area ? ?
any ideas what this could be ?
*** FIXED *** disable c1e
