People with the UD5 board using a Xfire config, what are your temps like on the cards ?
Im torn between this board and the P6TD Deluxe.
The only thing putting me off this board is the tight fit of the GFX cards when installed.
What are your temps like on the cards please

Terrible on the first card.

Beyond terrible.

Without a side fan that is, with a side fan installed it is fine.

Its Over 100!!! (both 4870 at stock frequencies and 5770 at 1 ghz). I killed a 4870 running at stock speeds while gaming, they were non reference designs with too small heatsinks. The side fan with a zalman bracket sorted it out. Cant wait for my mk13s and R3E.

I have a side fan blowing on them, it's a 12cm fan at low speed (900rpm)

The top card is generally 8C higher than the lower, having said that never had temps go above 80 and the card fan speeds never above 35.

The cards are set to 850 Core 1150 mem stock voltage.

So all in all not a problem for me..

:)

*Edit*

Just ran Fur mark for 10 mins

Bottom card seems to sit at 78 top card sits 88 fan at 42..

Though on playing games such as BFBC2 never goes above the original

That sounds the same as my temps now with the side fan, the top card remains around 81-82 in furmark @ 1000 Mhz.

Just never attempt 2 cards with a 2 slot width without a side fan, unless they have those reference exhaust coolers.

I dont want to see anything go over 90 degrees anymore, I'd say that 85 is the maximum that I would be fine with.

dont all 58xx cards have the rear exhaust ?

Yea those should be fine, I'm just rambling and moaning over how bad the 4870s were. (Lots of people ended up with burnt out 4870s, even without crossfire).

However, the exhaust coolers will need to run very loud on a 5800 crossfire setup, but they will keep them safe.

I use crossfire 5850 on my UD5 and the first card is only couple degrees higher.
Max temp was around 70c when running a couple of runs of Fur Mark.

Do you have to put Crossfired cards in the slot directly below, or can you put them 2 slots down to ease overheating?

the top slots are x16 the one further down is x8 + the botom card qill cover the usb headers if i was to do it that way
