I'm looking at getting the best possible mobo, so that I have ample room to upgrade. I will be going for an i7 and was originally looking at the Asus P6X58D Premium Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard [90-MIBAB0-G0EAY00Z]

which has some great reviews and nearly fulfills all my requirements. However as an owner of 8 hard drives, the extra sata ports on the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard [GA-X58A-UD7]

have really got me stuck on which to choose.

Does anyone have any opinions on the Gigabyte Vs Asus motherboard? The gigabyte does appear to have better specs, but just wondered if the the build quality will be as good as the asus.

I have been looking at the UD 7 for sometime now. Gigabyte were the 1st ones to put in the USB 3 SATA 6GB/S. Does that mean that they are better? Could do with someone who has tried both of them.

I hear the UD5 is a good mobo for the price too :) Shame OcUK dont stock it tho

Don't have any experience of the Asus board you mention but I have the Giga UD7 and I think it is a superb board - very easy to work with and a doddle to overclock with a nice bios. The giga is a bit pricy though, but I think it is probably worth it for the quality and features - plus I think Gigabytes support is better than Asus although Asus are trying hard to improve this. At the end of the day I think you would be ok with either, but I would just give the edge to the UD7 - just my opinion though.
