We have a very limited quantity of the below motherboard arriving with full support for 4-Way SLI out the box. This should be a good competitor to the Rampage III when you factor in the price of the expansion board for 4-Way SLI.

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD9 Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard @ £465.99 inc VAT

No sorry, the Gigabyte 870 chipset motherboard, its still not listed on your site, its meant to be due into retailers any day

Sorry off topic but I want one

Gigabyte have had serious delays with the 800 Series but hopefully we'll see stock soon.

lol ye ocuk lower ya price then people will buy. Prices in this country are just getting worst on pc hardware its a joke now.

Not about us lowering the price, ask Gigabyte and NVIDIA. To support 4-Way SLI they have to pay for the two NF200 chips along with a license. This is the reason that the R3E is cheaper and they're now having to offer an expansion product.

Premium enthusiast targeted board in premium price shocker! ;) :p

Exactly. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy the product. The UD9 is going to be a very poor seller - even Gigabyte know this. Their aim was to product a Quad-SLI board out the box and they've done it.

Take the Bugatti Veyron for example - it's more of a marketing exercise for VW than them hoping they'll sell quite a few of them.

slightly different, it wont be out of date in 6 months.

True but if you want the best then you pay for it. Has always been the same and always will be.

You can never wait for the next bit of hardware to come out at the end of the day. If everyone said "I'm not buying a GTX 480 as the 580 will be out in a year" then nobody would ever actually buy anything.

I'd assume it's the other way round for Gigabyte on this one ;)

They're making no more than Asus would on the R3E for example. They'll be making profit but you need to factor in all the silly costs they have to pay Nvidia.

lol if you had enough cash to buy a bugatti im sure you would. Despite the low population of them.

Exactly the point. If you had millions and millions in the bank, I know I'd be having one of these with 4x GTX 480 in SLI.:D

Had a couple in today. With such a limited amount of case choice and the high price these are going to be for the seriously hardcore users :D

"Users who buy the UD9 boards will also find Gigabyte listening far more closely to their needs. Upon registering they are then part of its VIP program, and it claims it's willing to throw engineers at the BIOS to meet your needs: it's the closest attempt to a personalised service we've seen yet."

Whilst it is expensive, I don't think you're likely to get such service anywhere else really.

To be fair Asus are also very good for specific BIOS requests. We had a problem around 2 years ago where a Rampage II was not compatible with a certain Adaptec RAID card. Asus made us a BIOS that was compatible. :)

They won't tend to deal with end users like Gigabyte are offering but Asus look after their SI customers a lot. :)
