Hi,

I haved looked everywhere for the 1T/2T command in the bios. I have activated the hidden features but cannot find it.

Does this board actually have the option?

Thanks.

The Abit Quad GT to my knowledge has a 1T / 2T option though - I am sure it did last time I used it. I have a Gigabyte DQ6 installed at the moment (which is also a 965 intel chipset) - and yet as you say have never found the 1T/2T commands in the BIOS.

Abit QuadGT does indeed have 1T/2T in BIOS according to the manual. I'll change my statement to current Intel and Gigabyte P965 and P975 chipset boards don't have 1T.

The Abit AB9 QuadGT is the only current motherboard that DOES support 1T command, it also doesnt jump to the 1333FSB above 401FSB which is like having an extra 70FSB on your overclock, all the other motherboards jump to the 1333FSB strap which reduces performance.

So anyone who moans how s*** Abit have become, think again!! :)

Gigabyte DS3, Asus Commando etc are the best 965 chipset motherboards, I dont think so somehow. . . ! :p

Abit all the way - if they could sort of bios updates & fix bugs much quicker & tweak performance, they would own DFI, Asus & Gigabyte with this board no problem.

The commando is the same as the quad gt m8 no leap to 1333 over 401.Runs 1066 like the quad.
And clocks higher than the abit.
best in this order commando quad ds3 / dq6 / ds4
Ds3 is the champion because it's cheap as chips.
I like abit recently got their fatal1ty 650i only trouble is i ordered the micro atx version by mistake.Rmaing the sucker tomoz. Was a sign from the gods telling
me to get a ds3/ds4/dq6.

are you sure that it does that from the BIOS? I didn't think so.
If you clockgen up from under 400 then they all do that.

As stated by Buff, if you clock from the Bios the Asus Commando will jump to the 1333 FSB Strap.

Thats because it drops to the 1333 FSB Strap which gives more room for higher FSB :) Think about it, if you have an Abit QuadGT that clocks upto 530 FSB on the 1067 FSB Strap it equates to having an extra 70 FSB equaling 600 FSB. If your running your ram in sync with the Asus Commando, you would have to lower your timings immensly to aquire 600 1:1, just use a divider anyway problem solved.

Does any memory run 4-4-4-12 @ 600mhz even with ridiculous volts & heat?

Thats totally debatable without running each mobo with the exact same ram, cpu etc etc.

Yeah, must admit I was very close to purchasing a DS3 Rev 3.3 :)

actually the S3 is the champion then as it's the same board but cheaper due to using conventional caps.

I bought the DS4 because I thought that the extras (firewire, ICH8R, better chipset cooling, beter power circuitry) were worth the extra & imo the QuadGT is better than the DS4.

and the dq6 where does this fit in?
forgive my noobishness "googled about commando and the 1066 a lot seem to think it has same strap as qgt"but that dq6 has caught my eye in the clearance section
might buy tomoz.and is it safe to say the gigabytes abit quad gt commando and p5b deluxe are the best?

I think any of those boards will do you well to be honest, I nearly always buy Abit because its a ritual for me for the last 6 1/2 years lol :)

Just read a previous post of yours, your using an E6300 right? If I was you, I would buy the DS3 Rev 3.3 save some money & have a really decent motherboard to overclock that CPU. Regardless of FSB Straps, Ram choice its probally going to make a few fps difference in games etc, so go with the cheapest if money is an important factor. :)
