Gigabyte Gaming 7 Z170 - Failed Motherboard CPU Temp Sensor

Hi. My CPU package temp has recently been wayyyy off the chart! Any ideas what could be causing this?

It happens after my system has been idle. When I wake the computer I notice these peculiar readings.

is it just under one Temperature monitoring software or multiple ones ?

I've tried HWiNFO and Aida64. They both report the same issue.

For what it's worth the motherboard has a switch to enable single or dual bios mode. Its set to run in single bios mode.

Thats normal (sure ive seen readings like that before on other boards), its the cpu core you want to keep an eye on.
