Hi guys.

Im thinking of buying a second hand Gigabyte 1080TI and wondering how with the warranty work?

The seller will include the original invoice so will I be covered for the 3 year of warranty?

GPU was original bought in January 21st 2018

No, you won't be covered.

I was looking through previous threads with similar questions and GIGA Man mentions the following:
https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/posts/29603280/
"We don't advertise our warranty as transferable, but technically it is.
If you can provide our RMA center the original proof of purchase the card is under warranty for 3 years starting that date. If you don't have the proof of purchase, then the serial number dictates the date."

So wouldn't that suggest it's covered?

@GIGA-Man best person to ask, it's a grey area as official no, you shouldn't be , but if everything is kept might be okay

How much they charging as new one is £600 here

It's a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Turbo

No, it's not covered. If the card is repairable then you might be able to persuade them to do it. If the card is not repairable, then you won't get a replacement card from them under any circumstances.

That's not a warranty, it's a calculated risk that you need to consider when buying second hand.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I think I might just bite the bullet and buy a new one
