Hi, im a bit desesperate right now, my card is acting weird. Can't handle any game anymore or Unigine Valley or Furmark, always crashes, sometimes with artifacts. Ive tried everything, underclocking, power management. I've tested too the onboard HD4000 GPU, stressing test him and its running fine.

Unigine valley at 1280x960 holds 3-4 minutes until crash using 500MB VRAM, at 1920x1080, on the other hand, using 1000MB of VRAM is crashing almost at start. Ive run memtestG80 and it gives me errors and seconds after just crashes getting some srtifacts. Ive changed thermal paste and thermal pads with good quality ones, temps are fine under 70ºC for the chip, i dunno about vrm's o vram chips cause this card do not have sensors at those. I've tried limiting the power to 90%, 80% and 70% and nothing, still crashes, i've tried increasing power limit and VCore and nothing again.

I'm pretty sure is something with the Vram chips. Any advice? Can i somehow repair vram chips or just limit vram usage via BIOS, or block vram chip whos making my gpu to crash?

Thanks in advance.

I've contacted them asking for warranty and they said all sorts of basic things about troubleshooting that i have already done but nothing about warranty or RMA'it. My card is indeed older than those 3 years (i think) if thats right i will re-contact them for an RMA. But doubt they will free RMA a 3+ years old card honestly.

I think some people were able to get a repair but were told if the repair didn't work they wouldn't get a replacement. Might be worth messaging the Gigabyte rep on these forums to see if anything can be done.

I've contacted them again, waiting for a anwser. If they don't have any good news for me i guess my only chance right now is to prepare my oven for a hot session...

did you check the temps on it?

Yes, temps on chip are fine, i even changed paste and pads.

Oven it if you get no help from the gigabyte rep, if nothing works don't buy a gigabyte again :p

If gigabyte doesn't help i will try the "oven technique", and yeah, i will never again buy form gigabyte i hade three GPU's and one motherboard deads from this company...Asus on the other hand never gave me a single problem. I will try MSI next time.

Prices are crap unless your going for a 1080ti, vega should be out soon which may help everything, just sucka now buying :'(

1080 is out of my reach for now, and i sadly decided, some time ago, to buy a gsync monitor, now im stuck with nvidia...

Did you try underclocking the vram.?

yes, and this is helping with artifacts, but crashes just happens everytime i put some minor stress in the gpu anyway.
