Can someone please explain exactly what this does. I have seen it mentioned in a few of their Haswell mobo overviews, but no actual explaination as to it`s function.

it provides digital power control to the cpu and memory, digital is more accurate at supplying/controlling power to those components so better stability ect

The above application isnt supplied with Haswell boards.

Now you are confusing me even more.

Are you saying " Hybrid Digital Power Engine" isn`t supplied with GB Haswell boards. If so, why is it advertised on the H87M-HD3 board. Just wanting to know if this board is capable of OCing, as I can`t seem to find any reviews or mention of it.
And thanks for the responses guys.

Its there in the Z77+Z87 BIOS options, there just isn't that windows based app on the disk anymore.

I think it was named "3D" for the three options,

• Power, Phase and Frequency

he means the application/program 3d power

you also have to be carefull with the h87 and budget boards as they skimp on the bios/oc features so you would need to google or search on how much it will oc

the cheap z87 d3hp http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-437-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=2574 would be a good budget ocing board imo

Cheers mate, just trying to find out what the Hybrid function actually is. Trouble at the moment is finding a review of that board, which hopefully might explain it. Ah well, guess I`ll just have to keep looking. Might try askingg on the GB site and see if anybody there can shed some light on it. Thanks again guys.
