I have a chance to get hold of a cheap second BFG 7800GT which is VERY tempting...
Now, i'll also need a new motherboard but I'm wanting to keep cost to a minimum.

Does anyone own the Gigabyte K8N SLi? They are a well known company, but it seems quite a bit cheaper than other boards?

Opinions welcome. Not after anything fancy

ive got the k8nxp-sli i think thats the same as ** on about. Its perfect, just as long as u have the latest driver or if u try and play a game with punkbuster enabled, ** computer has a massive lock up and u have to turn it off by the button. Apart from that its perfect

I have been running my K8NXP-SLi for a fari few months now and am totally happy with it - cracking board !

The K8N SLi is not vastly different, just doesn't have all the bells, bangles and whistles that the XP-SLi variant comes with (should say came with as they don't make 'em anymore :( )

i have the KN8 with a 3700 sd been stable as a rock no compliants with it at all once yewen helped me set up the bios

well i have the k8n-sli to be honest i wouldn't bother the chip has a heatsink above it that gets very hot and is not good when my graphics card is pritty much touching it but doesn't stop the board from being nice for price but also if you wan't to overclock stay away from it. It has some kind of stupid lock in the bios and wont allow you to overclock in dos it has to be overclocked in windows.
