Gigabyte missing cable issue - Aorus 15 X9 Laptop

Hi All,

First post here and i am trying to find out if anyone has any info on the cable i would need to add a sata drive to the above laptop. I think i have located the connection but for the life of me i cannot find the cable anywhere. i found a vid online that had the drive in it and connected. The one i got came without ha HDD hence no cable
Anyone have any idea's?

Are you talking about a sata SSD instead of the normal hard drive you've currently got installed?

No I have an ssd installed already. I want to install a sata 2.5”. The pic above I got off the internet it’s not my actual machine. I am trying to find the sata cable to connect my hdd as per the pic above.

Need a full image of your actual laptops internals as you can't see anything in the top pic. Motherboards do change and also it could be a different version as when I did a Goggle search there were variations of the X9?

sorry this is the aorus 15-x9 RTX 2700 the motherboard shows as gigabyte 15-x9 version 2

See the circled part, is there a connector under the serial number sticker? If so thats where it goes, direct connection, no cables

. that is just a sticker..there are no connections under there. i have had the battery out as well

Not under the black cover you've removed, literally under the sticker? take a photo of that part head on so I can whats directly underneath the sticker? see the photo you pulled off the internet with the drive installed, it just clips in?

no it doesnt clip in it is connected by the white cable see below. Thats the cable i need :-)

. that cable goes to the back of the hdd

The cable needs to connect to the SATA connector, that then connects to the HDD's SATA connectors, so if the connectors aren't there you'll need that as well, likely come as a set.

Are there any caddies, accessories still in the box that you've not used or noticed?

Yes and thats my issue...i need the cable to me that is just a sata cable with dual data and power. its the connection the motherboard end that is the issue and yes in the box the extras came to bolt onto the side of the hdd so it can be mounted in the chasis but that was it. No Cable. i have emailed the manufacturer but no reply as yet!

Just an update for anyone that has the same issue as i could find absolutely nothing on the web about this. I got a reply from the central support people who who told me to contact mendit (their repair people} who have been very helpfu and are sending me out a cable free of charge in the next day or so. You need to mail [email protected].

@Bezzer123 Sorry for missing this post.

Looks like you are sorted now, has cable arrived safely and you have installed HDD successfully? (probably still in transit looking at the dates)

We will check with Mendit to ensure its despatched.

@Atom80. Thanks for the response. Cable arrived and have installed hdd fine. But i have another issue that i am not sure if it started after install of hdd or was already there but..When i boot the pc from cold the fans work throughout the session that i am using the pc. If the pc goes into sleep mode and i wake it then the fans stop working (or stay at their lowest level) which then makes the pc unresponsive and nothing runs properly. If i then restart the pc the issue still exists. If i shutdown the pc then press the button to turn on..all is fine again. Any idea's greatly appreciated :-)

Hi I am keeping an eye on this thread.
I am new to PC gaming.
My Aorus 15 X9 Laptop arrived yesterday, I have the same model without the HDD.

I have a 2.5, 2tb ready to install but no cable.

I have yet to have success finding the cable / receiving support.
Did the packing advise the cable part number or name?
