i know my pc hardware is 4 1/2 years old now but i have no need to upgrade as it does what i need it to. I had it overclocked to 3.33ghz and i never pushed it as its more used for media centre and downloading, recently i noticed it has gone back to stock settings, so its now 1.6ghz:(

i would rather fix this than replace the mobo etc so does anyone have any suggestions. I have tried the clear cmos jumper and removed the battery but its not helped any.

this was a note i had of my bios settings

3.33 ghz (9 x 370)
cpu 1.5v (in bios)
cpu 1.44v (in cpu-z)
ram multiplier 2.4
memory frequency 888mhz
ddr +0.3v
pci freq AUTO (wont boot when o/c unless this is auto)
mch fsb + 0.1v

When this happens do you notice the time and date change?

I am wondering if the battery needs replacing.

Also try with a lower overclock.

just spent a while messing about with it, the battery seems fine, i forgot to disconnect the power cord when i removed the battery from the mobo, so i did this and cleared the cmos jumper and everything is working just fine now, cheers for your help matey.:D
