These UEFI BIOSes are created partly to deal with the problem of Ivy Bridge overclocking on Gigabyte P67 and Z68 motherboards.

However, there are some advantages of using UEFI BIOSes such as not needing a DSDT for power management functions, as evidenced by the Z77 motherboards from Gigabyte.

BE WARNED!!- you CANNOT flash back to the Award BIOS if you flash the AMI UEFI BIOS.
