Gigabyte or msi

Haha, fair enough, the gigabyte was recommended from here several days ago, bit bought custom PC and the MSI was a mid range board which ha it's prices knocked down to around £80 courtesy of the new thunderbolt board?
But it looks pretty obvious which one from the comments.

D3H is a good board mate at that cost.

If you have slightly more the M-Power is worth considering by MSI this is a great clocking board for the money.

Well from What I've looked at the MSI board is now around £80. So it's the same price as the Gigabyte.

What is *****B GRADE??????

Go for the Gigbayte board they are better than the MSI.

B grade could be a maufacturer repair or customer returned item (unwanted) and has 90 days warranty back to OcUK and then the remainder of the manufacturer warranty.

Being Bgrade they may be missing items such as SATA cables or the I/O sheid plate.

Which of these two would be better?
Gigabyte z77 d3h
Msi z77a g55

Thanks

Why don't you compare the £130 MSI board against another £130 Gigabyte board such as,

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £129.98
Total : £139.88 (includes shipping : £8.25).

Like for like the MSI Z77A-G45 is the actual board to compare against a Gigabyte Z77-D3H. £89.99 inc VAT, not the G55

I own a MSI G45 and have had no issues so far, I bought it before CustomPC reviewed it, as didn't like some of the reviews I had seen (and forum threads) relating to issues with the Gigabyte board (e.g. no posts, issues when using the PCI slots, issues with certain USB keyboards/mice in the EFI)

Gigabyte!
Not only has it been rated best budget board, but you get UK RMA.

Which you may be needing based on other peoples experience on these forums.

Basically the Gigabyte Z77G3H was the one I was originally going to go for.

After reading this months Custom PC magazine they reviewed the G45 (sorry) Which was originally a mid range board, but because they bought out a new board, it's now had it's priced slashed, The review was good and the only negative comment was that the LGA1155 was on the way out.
Me thinking it used to be a mid range board at a budget price, I would have thought that board would have been the better choice which is why I thought id ask you guys as you have the knowledge and I don't.

I was originally looking the the Asus range, but had ben recommended the gigabyte board for my budget, I'm none of the wiser, but thought id get some feedback on the MSI at that price.

The D3H issues relate to certain ATI Cards and again certain keyboards/mice combinations.

All easily fixed with a simple BIOS update if needed.

Everyone seems to reccomend the gigabyte board in this thread for good reason.

Its now also on offer.

If you have no brand preference then buy whichever you like the appearance/colour scheme of - it is that simple, like for like they both overclock equally as well, have similar feature sets, only exceptions being MSI has no PCI slots (hardly an issue these days), and D3H has an msata slot that no one in the right mind would use.

Personally, as I said I have the MSI board, but as people have stated around here the Gigabyte board is also a good board. As you read CustomPC, they used to recommend the Gigabyte but now recommend the MSI.

But isn't that just because everyone already has a Gigabyte - surely if everyone already had MSI's then they would be recommended...
Someone must have taken the plunge to find out the Gigabyte was a good board, but no one has really taken that plunge with the MSI, despite it being on several levels equal if not better than the Gigabyte.

The G45 was on offer last week, so doesn't really mean much.

I thought the MSI had pci slots?

2x16 PCI-E3 (one 16 or two 8x)
1x 16x PCI-E2 (4x speed only), 4x PCI-E1.
or am I being a Duffer???? haha

When I said Asus, that was what I was first looking at, and OC guys were saying Gigabyte.
But I want what's reliable, and PCI3 as im guessing this is whats new??
and couple of SATA 6gbs

I realised I wouldn't use all the Wifi stuff (not that I know what it does on a MOBO)

The MSI has no PCI slots - and by PCI we mean the OLD style slots that used to be used for Sound Cards, TV Cards, Network cards - not a problem for a new build, unless you have something specific to carry over.

Asus don't really have a comparable board at this end of the market, their cheap board isn't very highly rated - leaving only really the Gigabyte/MSI at the £80-£90 mark.

Personally for me the MSI was the better choice, it has a much less budget feel to it (Right Angle Sata's, Voltage test points, better VRMs, 8Pin vs 4Pin 12v Connector)

It does not have PCI slots.

The Gigabyte does.
