:eek:Can anyone give me any help here!
I have just built a new pc with the gigabyte and i7 bundle after having to return it to overclockers(because of ram issue i think).Everything is fine with the bundle..also fitted everything new sata dvd rom and sata re-writer.also new 1TB Samsung F3 HDD.And Ati 5850 gfx....also on tech,s recommendation i got the corsair hx850W PSU.
Now heres my problem..when i try to install windows 7 i get "Device drivers not found' Please run your support cd then nothing.
I,m totally lost spent the last few hours searching the net with no luck.
I,m no way any sort of pc tech and i bought this bundle thinking all it would be was fit it all together and away i go !
Hope someone can shed some light on this for me
thanks in advance guys

Hi,

I am guessing it's getting to the point where you select which drive to install Windows on when it gives you that message?

If so it's because Windows needs a driver for your hard drive controller.

Insert the CD that came with your motherboard and in Windows setup look for an option to install additional drivers. You should then be able to search the CD for the drivers and Windows will then be able to "see" your hard drive.

Good luck.

thanks for the reply..but sadly no!.When installing windows 7 yes you get the option on which drive to install and at the far right theres usually a yellow star (i think) withthe word new,But i,m not getting anything at all?.All i get is no device drivers found please run disk . i do and all that does is go to Xpress 2 recovery?

I think the driver it needs is one for your SATA DVD ROM. If you have an older IDE DVD ROM drive hanging around can you install this in your system for OS installation?

Is it full retail Win7 disc you have? Could call MS for support?

i,m no expert at this (as you can probs tell)..But i cant even see SATA in the bios ,so how do i check it ?. And when i do find it what should it be on?.I,m not to happy messin with the bios!

Restart, go into BIOS, select Integrated Peripherals and next to PC SATA Control Mode it will say either AHCI/IDE/RAID (?). If not set to IDE change it to IDE and you should install fine (no promises). You're on your own for changing it to AHCI post-install if you want AHCI, but there's plenty of guides on google.
