Hi,
Firstly, hope this is in the right area...
I have just put together a PC for experimenting with (using the Gigabyte P31-ds3l), and up until now, it has been running fine. I have been playing with the clocks (of an E2180)to try and boost performance, and all was well... until tonight.
Earlier, the PC crashed while stress testing, and since then it will not change the clock frequency. I can enter the BIOS and physically alter the FSB (say, set FSB to 210 from 200), but then freezes when i save to CMOS. The PC will then boot, but not save the clock settings. However, it will remeber the multiplier setting... I have tried loading the optimised defaults, but this makes no difference, i still cannot alter the clock speed. This is really irritating, and i dont really know how to fix it - is a BIOS flash in order?? If so, how safe is this?? Any other suggestions?
Thanks
